Comfort & Connection with your Housekeeper
Starting from your first visit with a new housekeeper, we always recommend a comfortable, friendly introduction from the homeowner and the pet to your new housekeeper. The first visit can be a little scary for some pets because a new person is arriving at the door along with all her supplies and her vacuum. Taking special care on the first visit to not only make sure the homeowner and housekeeper are comfortable with each but also to include pets in this process.
Once initial introductions (and tail wags) have taken place, We take extra care as we move throughout your home to ensure your pets are comfortable and safe inside your home. Some pet owners have specific rooms that they keep their pets in while we clean others prefer to have their pets roam freely. If there are any special instructions our homeowners have regarding their pets we are always happy to abide and give everyone peace of mind that your pets are well looked after while we clean your home.
Pet Friendly Cleaning Solutions
At Lady in White House Cleaning, we will never bring cleaning solutions that contain toxic chemicals into your home. Even still some pet breeds and species have specific sensitivities even to non-toxic cleaning products. When we arrive it's important to discuss any known allergies or sensitivities your pets may have. Most importantly floor cleaners do contain some strong antibacterial and antivirus chemicals. It's very rare that a pet would have sensitivity to these low level chemicals but it is possible. We encourage homeowners with pets with extreme allergies to provide any special products that they prefer to be used in their home and we were always happy to accommodate.
Avoiding Pet Anxiety
It's very common for some pets to get excited whenever someone comes to the door . If you have a pet that reacts well to treats or particular commands we're happy to do whatever is best to ensure your pet is calm and comfortable when we arrive! Some homeowners like to provide us with treats so their housekeeper is associated with treat time to calm their nerves about a visitor. In the case where the homeowner is not always home when we arrive you can let your housekeeper know where you keep the treats or leave some treats out on the kitchen counter to make sure you are furry family member is happy and comfortable.
Some cleaning activities such as vacuuming or Moving food bowls to wash the floors can sometimes trigger anxiety in our pets. In particular the noise of the vacuum in many cases can cause some anxiety. If this is the case for your pet please let your housekeeper know and we're happy to close the door in each room that we vacuum to ensure your pet feels adequately removed from the noise.
Exotic Pets
We are comfortable and capable of cleaning homes no matter what type of pet you have! While most pet owners have a dog or cat, many others have specialty pets like birds, fish or reptiles. In the cases with exotic pets some further considerations need to be given on sprayable cleaning solutions, special room treatment, or “do not disturb” rooms. If you have exotic pets we're happy to accommodate any special needs. During the first visit is the best time to discuss exotic pets in the home and anything special that needs to be done.
Pet Stains & Odors
Stains and odors from pet accidents can be stubborn and troublesome. We can always help with the occasional accident and can recommend good cleaning supplies for specific or stubborn odors and stains. being able to permanently remove stains or odor depend upon the severity of the stain, the species of the animal, the age of the stain and the type of floor covering the stain is on. Cat urine and dog urine contain different enzymes and cat urine is often the most stubborn to remove. We recommend cleaners formulated specifically for dog accidents and cat accidents in order to effectively treat each type of stain. A brand we trust is Nature’s Miracle which is available at most pet supply stores
